Removing the Past
for a Better Tomorrow.

If you have been arrested in West Palm Beach or have a criminal record in Palm Beach County, Florida, you must petition the court within the county for a criminal arrest record expungement or sealing. This is the first and most important step to removing that black mark from your past.

Attorney Eric J. Dirga has over 25 years experience with Florida expungements. Today he focuses his practice primarily on criminal arrest record expunging and sealing. He is dedicated to helping people get a second chance.

⚖ West Palm Beach Record Expungement Attorney

I have personally represented people seeking record expungements and sealing in West Palm Beach and all of Palm Beach County since 2002. Hearings are very common in West Palm Beach for these matters but they are mostly pro forma. I have yet to have the State Attorney’s Office object to any of the petitions I have filed and so the Court typically grants them.

The Benefits of a Palm Beach County Expunged or Sealed Record

Florida law provides you with many benefits once your arrest record has been expunged or sealed. A criminal arrest record expungement or sealing destroys/removes official government records referring to your arrest from the public record. The public will no longer have access to your arrest information from online government sources, such as the Clerk of Court or Law Enforcement Agencies.

Additionally, private companies that sell public information will purge this information from their databases once they realize it is no longer a public record. This can be facilitated through notification or simply the passing of time.

You will have the legal ability to deny the arrest occurred. There are a few exceptions to this but this ability is one of the most powerful. Backing this up with a certified letter from the Clerk of Court indicating that no record exists is all that you should need.

I encourage you to appear at any scheduled hearing for your petition to seal or expunge if you are within driving distance of the courthouse. If you cannot appear I can appear without you and that usually works just fine. Regardless, I will discuss with you all of your options well before the hearing.

Courthouse Parking in West Palm Beach

The Main Courthouse has a paid parking garage to the west. You will have to cross a main street and if raining an umbrella is handy. A few blocks away is a parking lot for Social Security which is cheaper if you don’t mind the walk.
